We run this server for everyone to have fun and feel comfortable. We dont run it for single players and trigger happy dudes, who are just out there to terrorize other people.
We demand the following:
- fair play
- sportsmanship
- honor
- self-dicipline
- to obeye the server rules (at all times)
- listen to orders of server officials (bad for you if not)
we encourage:
- open team challenges
- tournaments
- races
- bounty huntings and chases
- clan wars
the following is prohibited:
-No Cheats (this includes keyboard-macros for the fight), Trainers, Bug using, Modding or other Mods than the current New Universe Version!
- Begging for money
- Using F1 during interactions
- No Insulting or discrimination of any kind
- unfair play, harassment of any other players in any way
- (continously) revenge killing
- instigation other players harassing any other players on the server
- chasing other players continuously out of roleplay
- maintaining Kos Lists. Chasing other players for money is the job of tagged bounty hunters!
we offer to every clan:
- ownership of a homesystem
- ownership of a homebase within the homesystem
- a flagship for home defense
- your clantag as an ingame faction plus clantagged faction npc`s
- a special clan item of your choice (fighter, weapon or shield)
- a dockable clan carriership
New Universe is a rpg server, wich means... every player represents a certain role within his/her character ingame.
Each clan has to decide, what main roleplaying their tag is referring to. Upon that decision certain roleplay tags will be prohibited for that clan. i.e. members of a pirate clan [X] are not allowed to use a [P] police tag on any of their clan characters.
General Roleplay (RP) Rules:
It is not allowed to attack any other players out of the blue.
Attacking other players always has to be associated within a roleplay action.
I.e. pirates taxing other players. The pirate has to announce the tax first and give responding time to the opponent. The counterpart now has several options. Either he acknowledges he`s willing to pay, he opens fire, or he can try to escape. The pirate has to carefuly observe his counterparts reaction and prepares his action accordingly.
This case is transferable to any other roplay situations. i.e. a police officer is charging a pirate, merc, smuggler etc. for punishment. In that case the misdemeanant is allowed to act accordingly, like the taxed player in the example above.
If a player is beeing killed, taxed, punished in roleplay action, he is allowed of “immediate revenge” to that action. Taking revenge after several hours or days for an action that has passed already, is not allowed. The point is, if a kill has been executed by a merc, bountyhunter, policeman or pirate the former victim has the chance to become the offender for the next action and vice versa. The immediate reaction is important and can be continued as long as both parties agree.
Allowed tags within the RPG on NU:
Freelancer
Anyone without a RPG tag in its name is classified as Freelancer.
Freelancers are the only passive RPG players, they have no RPG right, but they can be forced into RPG actions from a active RPG faction like pirats if they get taxed.
[P] Police
A police tagged character is allowed to fine any delinquent pilots like pirates, privateers, mercenaries and bountyhunters.
Assuming that pirates and privateers are “Wanted Thugs”, they can be fined at all times.
Finig bountyhunters and mercenaries requires valid evidence (i.e. Screenshots) in order to charge them for a criminal act, like killing non criminals for a bounty. The police will review the evidence to clearify it as proofed or non valid. Proofed crimes can be charged just once per action. Once the fine has been compensated, the pilot cannot be charged for that same action again.
Minimum fine = 2 million credits. Maximum fine = 15 million credits.
The police will compile criminal files for recidivists.
Police tagged players are allowed to engage any pirates and privateers without prior warning, since they naturally expect getting attacked themselves.

[H] Bounty Hunter
A bounty hunter captures fugitives or criminals who are posted on the NU “Wanted” Board on the forum (not activated yet) for a monetary reward (bounty).
If a Bounty is set for multiple kills, the bounty can still be claimed, but between each kill there has to be a 24hr gap. That way other players get a chance to gather the bounty as well.
Compare to mercenaries, Bounty Hunters are only allowed to work for the good side.
Addition:
Bounty Hunters [ H] are not allowed to be allied with any of the following tags.

Bounty Hunters [H] are not allowed to wear following tags on any of their characters.

If Bounty Hunter [H] is your chosen role, your clan-characters are also allowed to wear the following tags.

[M] Mercenaries
Mercenaries are ruthless cutthroats killing for money with no emotions.
For a price they can be hired for almost every job.
They take following orders and/or missions from Clans or single players.
-escorts for Traders or Trader convoys (single traderuns or permanent duty)
-fighting support [single fights or permanent fighting support)
-support in Homesystem defense and law enforcement (permanent support)
Compare to bountyhunters, mercenaries are allowed to be hired by everone.
Bounties can be picked up once and the kill will be recognized as an official kill score.
Addition:
Mercenaryclans can be allied with all other tags. Exceptional case: They cant be allied with the following tags at the same time.

[T] Trader
Traders are the peaceful citizens of Sirius. Traders are scouting systems and maintain & keep their storages always up to date. PvP is only an amusement for them.
Their commodities are always the best, but be aware! The prices might not be adequate all the time. So a price check, might lead into better results.
Traders are mostly neutral with everybody.
In addition to the selling price they get x% profit as a bonus.
Traders are allowed to open fire on [X] pirates and [FX] privateers, without prior warning, since they naturally expect getting attacked themselves.

Smugglers are basically Traders but compare to them, they mostly transport illegal goods for the black market for bigger profit.
Such as a trader in addition to the selling price Smugglers get x% profit as a bonus.

Cardamine, Lightsaber, Light Arms, Prisoners, VIP`s
Additional goods are subject to be declared as smuggler goods with short notification at any time.
Smugglers are allowed to open fire on [P] police, without prior warning, since they naturally expect getting attacked themselves.

[FX] Privateer
Privateers travel throughout intergalactic space and capture ships also from hostile clans to get to their goods. They are not allowed destroy a ship without prior warning. Privateers are required to hail ships and demand either dropping their commodities or pay a tax.
Every ship/player, can only be captured once every 24 hrs, no matter if the ship dropped its goods, was destroyed, a payment was made or the pilot escaped. A gap of 24 hrs has to expire to capture that ship/player again.
Privateers also take Orders from Clans to loot or capture specific goods, weapons or armor from other Clans.

[X] Pirates
Pirates are thugs. They rob, kill, and tax everybody without proir warning. They stockpile their treasures in their clansystems and are most agressiv. But as for the roleplay, even pirates are falling under certain rules.
Each player can be taxed only once every 24hrs. That rule apllies for the whole pirate clan.
i.e. A player gets taxed by a pirate. That player is good in all systems for 24 hrs and cannot be taxed by any clanmember within the next 24 hrs. An exception of that rule is the pirate home system.
Minimum is 2 million, maximum tax is 15 million.
Pirates are allowed to open fire against police tagged chars in firing range without previous action and prior warning, since they naturally expect getting attacked themselves.

CLAN RULES:
§1: Clan Duties:
-every clan must choose a main role as for their roleplay! (see rpg rules)
-every clan must maintain an up-to-date reputation list, (NU-Clanboard) (see also §3)
-every clan must maintain an up-to-date Memberlist (NU-Clanboard) (see also §4)
-every clan must post Claninfos on their clanboard! [NU-Clanboard) (see also §5)
-a clan with ownership of a system and/or station is allowed to maintain a set of rules fort that particular system/station visible for all on their NU-clanboard, if they dont, rules fort hat system/station will not be allowed to be enforced. Period! (see also § 5).
§2: Clan-Wars:
In general each clan can declare war to any other clan if it is reasonable
In a state of war all the valid RPG rules will be dispensed as long as the war lasts and all Members fight how they see fit. But we still recommend our codex of honor, that the war is declared within RPG and not carried out because of personal grieves between any players.
Declaration of war:
- only clan leaders are officially allowed to declare war on other clans!
- Declarations of war must be postet in the clanboards open section on NU-Forums!
- Declarations of war must be announced 48 hrs before the martial state of war will be active and the war begins.
- each clan can actively only be initiator of 2 wars at the same time. Wich means 1 clan can only declare war, beeing the agressor against 2 clans at the same time.
Defending your or your allies home system against an agressor is not beeing considered as a war declaration from your side.
3: Reputationlist:
Every clan has to maintain an up-to-date list of reputations with all other clans on their open section of their NU-Forum clan-board.

Mutual Alliance (MA):
A „mutual alliance“ is beeing formed between 2 clans.
A contact of “agreed conditions” of an MA has to be announced and archived on the internal sections of both clans. (NU-Forum)
Both sides agree to help and defend each other whenever necessary.
Clans in an agreed Alliance never kill each other, expect in agreed pvp action!
If a clan gets into a situation, where two of his allies declare war on each other, the clan has two choices. Either they have to try to arbitrate in the dispute and shall not interfere in the action, or they need to break the Alliance with one of the clans and /or pay a contractual penalty.
The exact terms will be part of the negotiations of the “agreed conditions” in the MA contact.
Defense Pact (DP):
A defense pact is beeing formed between 2 clans.
A contract of “agreed conditions” of a DP has to be announced and archived on the internal sections of both clans. (NU-Forum)
Both sides agree to help defending each others homesystem whenever necessary.
In addition, both clans can also agree to help each other in any battle action
The exact terms will be part of the negotiations of the “agreed conditions” in the DP contract.
Non Agression Pact (NAP):
A „none agression pact“ is beeing formed between 2 clans.
A contract of “agreed conditions” of an NAP has to be announced and archived on the internal sections of both clans. (NU-Forum)
Both sides agree to not attack each other no matter what. Exception, a cogent RP action has occured.
The exact terms will be part of the negotiations of the “agreed conditions” in the NAP contract.
Neutral:
Here you find all the clans you have no spezial relations with, so they become neutral.
Armistice (A):
An armistice is a situation in a war where the warring parties agree to stop fighting. It is not necessarily the end of a war, but may be just a cessation of hostilities while an attempt is made to negotiate a lasting peace. The key aspect in an armistice is the fact that "all fighting ends with no one surrendering". To break an armistice both parties need to have a good reason.
Cease fire (CF):
A „cease fire“ is beeing formed between 2 clans.
A contract of “agreed conditions” of an CF has to be announced and archived on the internal sections of both clans. (NU-Forum)
A ceasefire is a very tense situation where battle action can start again on the slightest pretence.
The exact terms will be part of the negotiations of the “agreed conditions” in the CF contract.
War (WAR!!!):
Every clan can act as an agressor only in 2 wars at the same time. Wich means only 2 war declarations can be announced at the same time.
But a clan can theoretically be involved in more than 2 wars, since other clans can also declare war on them.
